Mommy And Me Matching Backpacks For The Adventures Ahead

By on January 31, 2018

My Outfit: Romper // Shoes // Backpack // Sunglasses (25% off w/ CELESTEDIFF

Lila’s Outfit: Dress // Shoes // Backpack

So let me just put it out there- matching your little one is the best right?! Well these backpacks just put it over the top for me. My backpack is actually my most favorite style diaper bag so I am carrying everything I need for my little lady while she packs everything she can fit from her room on our outings. I think it’s hilarious that she packs a bag each time we leave the house, but hey that’s not a battle worth picking for me. Just carry the bag girl, and I’ll just be over here matching you! Haha.

I like to think that we are pretty active and spontaneous with our adventures but this past month for us has been a doozie. We started the month sick, but inspired for the year ahead. Then right on the tail end of that sickness, Lila picked up a cold that spread to me and we both have been just feeling yucky all month. I am still going to the chiropractor to help my shoulder injury but I had to decrease my appointments to once a week because getting out of the house has been a bit difficult.

This week has been much better and I can feel our spirits coming alive again. We have had such great week doing small outings close by. Lila’s birthday is on Sunday, so while I want to take her to Disneyland so badly and go do other fun things I think I have to keep her home until her birthday. I can’t wait to share with you about her birthday weekend.

XOXO,

Celeste Wright

Skincare Tips to Get You Through The Winter

Hi Everyone!

I am so excited to share with you some skincare tips to help you get through the winter months. As much as I love the winter, I hate how it makes my skin feel. Things are looking up this winter since I got to hear from the amazing Dr. Barba, a dermatologist from Dove. She shared some ways to get your skin through these winter months and looking it’s best just in time for spring.

These are my top 3 tips that’ll be sticking to this winter:

  1. Care for your underarms.

Dr. Barba notes that underarm skin is sensitive and can easily be irritated by the textures of the garments we all use to bundle up this time of year. That’s why we need a product that keeps us hydrated and protected. Dove Advanced Care Antiperspirant is formulated with moisturizers to help alleviate irritation and leave you with softer and smoother underarms, as well as 48-hour wetness protection.

I recently had a pretty bad irritation in my underarms and it had me reevaluating all the products I was using as well as my daily routine. Underarm care is something that I used to overlook completely. I had no idea how much something as simple as the texture of my clothing could irritate me. I also was using a few different deodorants and threw them all out and I am sticking with my og deodorant since the junior high locker room days, Dove Advanced Care Antiperspirant. Right now I am loving the beauty finish scent. Makes me smell and feel feminine all day long. Check out Dove Advanced Care online.

  1.  Lay off the intense exfoliation.

Exfoliating feels great, but when you do it too much or too often it actually removes the essential oils from the skin, which can lead to breakouts. So get rid of those dead skin cells regularly, but don’t exfoliate so much that you’re dehydrating your skin even more. Something I am way too guilty of is over exfoliating. When I am in the shower I scrub, scrub, scrub! These past few weeks I have taken the exfoliators out of my shower and I notice my skin is already thanking me. Who would have thought less is more?

  1. Get into a bedtime routine.

Bedtime is the best time to hydrate your skin. If you’re looking to decrease collagen breakdown you might want to consider these three quick steps recommended by Dr. Barba before hitting the hay:

  1. Wash your face.
  2. Apply a retinol.
  3. Moisturize.

My bedtime routine really is key. A simple 3 steps keep it realistic for doing long term. I found myself loving my moisturizer more and more even though I hate putting creams/lotions on, my skin is really thanking me.

Thank you for reading and I hope these tips help someone else get through the winter months.

XO,

Celeste Wright

Pink Rain Boots

Where has the week gone?! Lila and I have been sick this week and laying low at home but that didn’t stop us from going out today in the perfect rain. Lila loves putting on her rain boots and these pink ones are her favorites right now. The are so darling and are the most perfect shade of pink, so naturally I am obsessed with them too. To brighten up the day and stay warm she picked her ice cream sweater and naturally it paired with her ice cream skirt. (And yes- we got ice cream. How couldn’t we, ya know?)

As I was putting the links to her outfit I realized everything besides her shoes are now sold out. So below are a few things for your toddler inspired by ice cream. I hope everyone has a great weekend. Thanks for reading!

Three Ways I Am Taking On The New Year

By on January 18, 2018

Matching Pineapple Yoga Pants: MOM / MINI

Matching Flower Sunglasses: MOM / MINI

Matching White Low Tops: MOM / MINI

This year has brought along many intentions, and the best intentions to make are ones that are realistic enough to keep. We have been a one car family most of Lila’s life and with that came a lot of walking. I love walking with her in the stroller and it has been honestly sometimes the best part of my day. She has never been too fond of sitting in the stroller so it really changed the game when we got a stroller that she could face me in. I mean really, that made a HUGE difference. I could talk to her and make faces at her and pretty much just keep her company. What she really wants (even to this day) is to be in baby carrier. But sometimes that is just not possible, now that she is almost 3 and weighing 30+ pounds. I used to not mind it so much but since I hurt my arm last November I haven’t put a carrier on once. It was a huge wake up call to start honoring my body a bit more since I have been living for Lila these past 3 years.

New Year, New Intentions. Now Let’s Keep ‘Em.

  1. Daily Family Walks
  2. Less Caffeine, More Water
  3. Date Nights 1x’s Monthly

Pretty simple intentions right? Well I think that should be the point. Things that are realistic and things that are good for your health- emotionally and physically.

I am very, very proud to say that we have gone on a family walk almost every day this year with an exception of one or two days. Our walks are usually around 3 miles. Sometimes less, usually more. Lila is not very happy about our family walks and will try to convince us to stay home every time. We try to keep her as cozy as possible in the jogger and once we are on the walk she is fine, but asks to go home every twenty minutes. Hubs and I aren’t letting her get to us! We just keep walking…

This is a new one. I never in a million years thought I would be trying to drink less caffeine but here we are! When I hurt my arm I started wanting no caffeine and only wanted to drink water. Then when I started drinking coffee again I noticed I was getting terrible anxiety. At the beginning of the year I switched the black tea. I have been getting those glass bottles of Tejava unsweetened black tea and will only drink one bottle a day. So far that’s been enough to get me awake in the morning and keep the anxiety at bay. I have treated myself to coffees like everything was fine a few times in the past week and each time I regret it by the end of the day. Sticking to one bottle of black tea got added to the intention list after noticing the positives.

Last but not least da da date night! Our goal is to go on one Lila-less date a month. Last Saturday night we went to the Arclight in Hollywood and watched Ladybird. I have been wanting to see it and Jake’s idea of date night is a trip to the movies. Plus I am sucker for movie theater popcorn. I think it’s even better than watching the movie. When we were dating that was the #1 theater we would go to, so it was pretty romantic going back now that we are all grown up. Afterwards we walked to The Highlight Room a few blocks away and enjoyed the nightlife from the rooftop bar. We got drinks and appetizers and hung out and talked for hours. I seriously couldn’t have asked for a better “first” date of the year.

Well that’s all folks. That’s what I am up to lately and hopefully for the rest of the year. If you have any questions let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading!

A Love Like No Other // Choosing To Potty Train “Late”

By on January 8, 2018

Diapers + Wipes + Skin Care

Diaper Caddy + Wipes DispenserDiaper Pail

4 Drawer Dresser // Elephant Nightlight and Soother

YES. My almost three year old is still wearing diapers. I haven’t tried to potty train her yet and the main reason being that diapers are just so easy. Once she pees, I change her, and that’s it. No matter where we are or what we are doing she can use the bathroom freely and it adds a lot of flexibility to our life. We drive a lot and something I am definitely not ready to hear is, “I have to pee” from the backseat while in traffic.

I know that potty training is right around the corner, and I’m gonna be driving around that corner reeeeeeally slow. Right now this is what is best for us, and it’s something that everyone ends up knowing how to do! If potty training late means less accidents and a quicker transition that I am all for it. My main concerns are her being as comfortable as possible and making sure I take big steps at her pace. I’m hoping to look back and know I made the best choices I knew how for both our sake.

Celeste Wright

Packing Light: City Travel Essentials With Toddler

By on December 30, 2017

Gear: Stroller // Changing Station // Wipes Case // Bottle Bag

My Outfit: Shoes // Sunglasses 25% off with code: CELESTEDIFF

Lila’s Outfit: Dress // Leggings // Shoes

The older Lila gets the less we usually need while on an outing. I try my hardest to travel light, but I admit I have a safety net knowing that I packed our car for just about every scenario. I find myself wanting to carry a diaper bag even less when my husband is out with us. Don’t get me wrong I sure do love carrying a bag but sometimes when you’re in the city it’s just easier to travel light.

Since Lila is still in diapers one thing that we can’t ever leave in the car is diapers, wipes, and a changing mat. I absolutely love this changing kit from Skip Hop. I have been using the exact system since Lila was just a baby. I love that there is a place for the essentials and easily clips to the stroller or can slip into the under basket. I am a sucker for anything blush so I just upgraded to their new blush print! I love the textured pattern on the front and it feels so good getting a new, clean one. This time I tossed the red wipes case that it came with and threw in my favorite wipe holder in it’s place. I should have done this years ago!

Aside from packing light, we also travel light with the coolest stroller ever. We have had this stroller forever but it never gets old how small it folds up. It folds up into the size of diaper bag and has a carrying strap for you to hold it by. When we park in parking structures and have to walk up the stairs my husband will carry it and I’ll carry Lila. Then we get to the car we talk about how awesome it is that we didn’t have to wait for the elevator. Ha! It’s also useful for those restaurants that aren’t exactly kid friendly and don’t know what to do with your stroller while you eat. We just fold it up and throw it under the table.

I actually get stopped almost every time we go out and people ask about my stroller. Either they know what model it is already or they’ll say ‘is that the one that folds really small?’ My husband will roll his eyes overtime we get stopped because he knows I love to talk about our stroller with strangers while we are out.

So this our travel system right now! Light, practical, and easy to transport from point a to point b. If you have any questions let me know in the comments.

Put A Name Bubble On It

By on December 18, 2017

UNICORN LABELS PACK

From play group to play dates our sippy cups get thrown around. Our favorite little pink cup used to stand out from the crowd but these days it has become more and more popular. When searching for a name label it was important to me that the label was waterproof. We wash our cups so much that I didn’t want to have to reapply a new label every time I washed it. I found these labels from Name Bubbles and they are perfect. They are waterproof and actually pretty life proof! Our cups get tossed around so much so these labels really come to the rescue, making sure we always know which cup is ours.

If you are looking for some labels for your kiddos these are the way to go! I also snagged a 15% off code for you too 🙂 Enter promo code: OHHELLO at checkout.

Celeste Wright
