Savoring Every December Second

ROMPER // SHOES // RUG

Does anyone feel like the month of December goes by way too fast? I have a checklist of things I want to do with Lila before the month is over and even though we have checked off our fair share boxes I still feel like there isn’t enough time left. This is my favorite month of the year and I get so excited every time I see lights or decorations up at a place we normally go, but it’s twice as exciting to see Lila’s face light up and when she sees lights and decorations. She gets most excited by Christmas trees and every morning she goes up to our tree in the living room and says, “Hi, Christmas tree!” It’s pretty much my favorite thing ever and I think it’ll be February before we end up throwing it away.

Christmas approaching also means that the day after Christmas her room is most likely going to look like a tornado of toys, so I have taken preventative measures and got her a new larger organizer for her room as well as few more small pieces. To tie the room together I wanted to get a rug that matched the colors in her room without being a solid color or a pattern. I got her this RUG from Lorena Canal Rugs and new it was be a perfect fit. I always new I wanted a Lorena Canals Rug for her room because their rugs are machine-washable. Lila always takes her snacks in her room and is also loves to run around the house and color with marker. It is so not like me to be stressing out hoping Lila doesn’t mess something up in the house, she pretty much has free reign and to keep it that way I wanted a rug I could throw in our washing machine and not think twice about it.

We have already washed our rug a few times in our washing machine and it is so easy. I was worried about the color fading the first time I washed it but the color is still perfect. I love that they use natural dyes and contain no VOCs just like most carpeting. Also a portion of their proceeds support the Sakula project and provide schooling for children in India. As you can tell, it’s a company I can stand behind. Everything from the print, the practically, the eco factor, and their mission- I love it all.

I wanted to show you how Lila’s room is styled but there are still loose ends and it’s not quite finished. I think it will be ready after the holidays when I am not focused on checking off Christmas activities and more focused. I hope everyone is having a fabulous December!
