Happy Monday Friends!
I mean- Tuesday. Happy Tuesday Friends!
After lunch on Saturday we Lila wander around and spent seriously like an hour at this little spot. She loves splashing the fountains and there’s lots of kids and dogs running around so she has a great time just walking from fountain to fountain doing her thing. I love days where we have nothing to do and can just pick a spot to hang and follow Lila’s lead.
Tomorrow I’m sharing Lila’s ‘Montessori style’ closet. So check back for that! Thanks for reading.
Tonight with dinner I made an easy summer salad that I have been making on repeat all summer. You can whip up a big plate and enjoy it as a meal or you can make small bowl and have it a side dish. I like to make it in bulk and keep it in the fridge for anytime I am feeling snacky. Ingredients for An Easy Summer Salad are from Milk And Eggs. Greetings from the LA County Fair!
It was our first time at the LA fair and it was a blast. All of the attractions were beyond magical to see. Especially when the sunset turned the sky to dusk. Everything lit up and I felt like I was in the fair in Charlotte’s Web or something. I went to the Ventura County Fair a few times before, and this was like 100 times better at least. The attractions and halls were so perfectly detailed. We loved the Alice and Wonderland hall, especially the live rabbits at the Mad Tea Party. There was a Dinosaur exhibit where you got to walk through the dinos and Lila loved it. Even though she wanted to be held the whole time. Last thing that stuck out was the live animals. This part usually bums me out at fairs, but I kid you not these animals were fineeee. Every animal had tons of space and a trainer watching over it. There were lemurs, peacocks, giraffes, monkeys, alligators, parrots- I mean it was crazy. We had such a fun family night and I can’t wait to come back next year. Are you going to the fair this year? Let me know in the comments. 🙂
*Thank you to the LA County Fair for generously sponsoring this post. We had the best time.
It is no secret that I love baby wearing. I have been wearing Lila since she was a newborn and I can attribute much of our bond to it. We have tried out a lot of different carriers together in our two and half years of baby wearing from frontward facing only carriers to multi facing carriers to wraps to slings and everything in between. Right now Lila weighs about 30 pounds and was having less and less space in our old carrier. We switched to Tula Baby a few months ago using one of their Free To Grow Carriers. The first time I put it on Lila fell asleep within minutes and had a nice long two hour nap in it. I love having Lila nap in the carrier because that means I can get stuff done while knowing that my baby is safe and sound.
I recently came across this quote and it really stuck with me how true that feels. When I am holding her close she has such a calm to her that she doesn’t have at any other time.
I always knew baby wearing was for me, because it was in my mama bear gut. It always felt right for me and Lila as a baby was instantly calm if she was put in a carrier. After doing some research I came to learn that there really are some amazing benefits other than just that warm and fuzzy feeling of having your little one close to you.
Did you know that babies that are carried cry 43% less than babies that are not carried. And in the evening hours that number jumps to 54% – Don’t these numbers make you want to run and put your baby in a carrier? No one likes to hear their baby cry.
This is a big one for us. Lila always will breastfeed if she is the carrier and the best part is that she can breastfeed practically anywhere. She always hated doing that whole hiding her a blanket thing, so instead I would put her in the carrier and pop the hood over her. If there is one thing I couldn’t imagine my life as a mom without it’s breastfeeding the in the carrier.
Whether they are asleep or not you can do anything you need to do handsfree. When Lila was little she would let me do anything as long as she was being carried. The best part is when she fell asleep and I could do anything I needed to do leaving me feeling productive and leaving her feeling cozy sleeping through it all.
According to research worn babies are given a sense of security and affection. This helps to improve their neurological development. When worn babies are in tune to your heart rate, breathing, and your movements. This encourages baby and actually helps their nervous system function and keep organized.
Babies start small but then they get heavy! Carrying around that weight is a great workout for mom. It makes a walk around the block way more rewarding when you can come home and treat yourself to something yummy for all those extra calories you burned!
With your little one right there in front of you, you will know almost instantly if something is wrong or if they are bothered. You are also able to comfort them at a moments notice.
Those are just a few of the reasons I LOVE baby wearing. I will continue to wear Lila until I can’t fit her in a carrier anymore. And just thinking that makes me so sad! I will always treasure these years we have had together where I felt like she was my extra limb.
Thanks for reading and let me know in the comments if you baby wear or plan to with your baby! 🙂

Words can't describe my love for babywearing. I've been carrying this little lady around all of her life and I know it has added infinite value to our bond. Every day she gets a little bit bigger, a little bit older, and a little more independent. But when I put her in a carrier she's right back to being my sweet tiny darling baby. 💘 // @tulababycarriers #tulababycarriers #tulalovecollective #babytula
Babywearing + Breastfeeding = my two favorite things combined. 💘 Lila has spent a good amount of her life in a baby carrier and I have gotten used to putting a baby carrier on like it's a freakin accessory. This Tula Baby Toddler Carrier is perfect for all the extra weight she's gained and gives me the extra support I need to keep this babywearing thing going. 💪🏻 @tulababycarriers #tulalovecollective

Good Morning Friends!
Last night was a very special night because it was *drumroll please* Date Night! Jake and I almost never go out just the two of us. In fact it’s mid July and we have only been out just the 2 of us one other night this year. Needless to say, this date night was long over due.
I have been wanting to see Baby Driver since I saw the preview and finally Jake asked for a date night enough times that he wore me down. We decided to see it at iPic since it’s more than just a theater but rather an experience.
From the moment I walked in I was instantly relaxed. The lighting is rather dim and there is a nice aura about the place. We checked in at the concierge desk and she kindly escorted downstairs to the lounge and theater area. As you can see from the photos above there is an entire lounge area where you can sit, talk, and order food/drinks before or after the movie. I loved this area and it was the perfect place to grab a drink and talk a bit before the movie.
When it was time to be seated for the movie the manager on duty kindly walked us to our seats and gave a tour of the sitting area. Our seats were waiting for us with pillows and a fleece blanket. How awesome is that? I always wish I had snuck a blanket into the theater before so this was like a dream come true. I was also impressed with the amount of storage available. There was a place for my purse and everything.
We ordered food before the movie started and they brought it out to us in courses during the movie. It seriously couldn’t have been better timed how they brought it out either. First, when the previews were starting an attendant brought each seat their bag of popcorn (the best part!) Then as the movie was starting our drinks were delivered. I got a coke and Jake got an orange cream and they also brought us each a water. It was so nice having a ice cold glass to drink from instead of a paper cup. A few minutes later our appetizer was brought out, warm pretzels with mustard and jalapeño cheese. Yum! Towards the middle of the movie we were brought tater tots and sliders. I was so full off eating my entire popcorn, but these tater tots couldn’t keep me away. I never realized how much I loved tater tots before. The sliders were super yummy too! When the movie was ending is when our dessert was brought out, Smores a la mode! It was so delicious and the perfect thing to end the movie with. Our waitress was also the nicest girl on the planet. I wanted to give her a hug at the end because she was seriously a rock star and made our night unforgettable with her attentiveness to making sure everything was perfect for us.
On our walk back to the car I couldn’t stop smiling. It was by far the best date night we had gone on since having Lila. Also something about walking through the One Colorado alley at night with the twinkling lights gives me the kind of magical feeling you get around Christmas time. We might just have to make date night a more regular thing. Oh and Baby Driver did it not disappoint. If you haven’t seen yet runnnn to theaters. Literally stop what you’re doing and go to the theater. IT’S SO GOOD.

Yesterday me and my sister rounded up the kiddos to go Casetify store on Abbot Kinney. They were hosting a special event for us where the kids could make artwork and then when they were done crafting we got to pick our favorite masterpieces to turn into phone cases. It was amazing. The kids had so much fun and I loved seeing their eyes light up at the craft station going to town on their projects. I can’t even handle the cuteness they created. If you follow me on Instagram then you saw the behind the scenes on my InstaStories. When I get the case in the mail I will be sure to share it here in my next post.
After the kids were done crafting we decided to take advantage of the awesome parking spot that we scored and walk around Abbot Kinney for a bit. It was such a beautiful day since it was warm and overcast, in my opinion a perfect combination. We stopped by Blue Bottle for iced lattes and Blue Star for donuts and in between found all of these adorable walls. Both kiddos ended up falling asleep on the walk back to the car which was a #MomWin.
A Bit About This Stroller: I love this stroller because not only does it turn heads but also maneuvers like a dream. The bottom basket was jam packed with the kid’s stuff like outfit changes, water bottles, snacks, balloon animals, and who the heck knows what else but it didn’t effect the smoothness of the ride at all. It also folds up into one piece which is super awesome because our old stroller was two pieces and much harder to break down. It also came with all the accessories, instead of them all being sold separately. How annoying is it when you get a stroller and then you have to buy -everything- separate?! I loved that with this Kangaroo stroller everything is right there in the box. Because it’s a single stroller the kids have to trade off between sitting in the stroller / being worn in a carrier. It’s funny to see them fight over who gets to sit in the stroller, it reminds me of calling shotgun to sit the front seat.
I hope everyone had a fun weekend with family and friends!
I have still been at home recovering, so one of my favorite things to do with Lila is picnic in the front yard. She loves it because she loves to be outside and I love it because I feel like we are doing something without having to leave home. She gets so excited for our picnics and will choose random things that she wants to bring outside. I always let her fill a basket with fruit from the fridge because what’s the harm in that, right? She will usually eat the apple out of all the fruit she brings out because cantaloupe, mango, and orange all require preparation. My favorite guilt free afternoon snack that makes it to our picnic has to be Harvest Snaps.
If you haven’t tried Harvest Snaps you are seriously missing out. Harvest Snaps are made from real, all-natural peas. They have tons of protein and low fat and sodium. I have been eating them for years and my favorite part is that I have no guilt about snacking on them. Lila and my husband love them almost as much as me, so I always have a snack bag full of them in my diaper bag. They are perfect to take on the go and easy to eat in the car for long drives.
There are also eight different flavors, each better than the last. So you can still switch things up with a new flavor here and there. My favorite flavor is the light salted, because I think they are perfect. I’ll switch things up with tomato basil or mango chile lime. They are also gluten free and dairy free, so that’s a win!
I hope everyone had a great long weekend with family. If you are looking for a delicious, healthy snack for at home or on the go, you can find Harvest Snaps near the produce section almost anywhere. Happy Snacking!

After a long week at home recovering surgery it felt so good to get dressed in something other than pajamas and hit the town. The second Jake got home from work we went to our local mall so that Lila could run around freely and I could get some fresh air. I wore my new dress from Olive Ave and it instantly became my new favorite. I seriously want my closet to have 20 of these dresses in different colors and patterns. It is comfortable and perfect for adventures.
Thank you to everyone for your sweet comments, messages, and emails with well wishes. Every single one of them lifted my spirit! I can’t wait to feel 100% again. My family has been a huge help this week, whether it was entertaining Lila or keeping me company. I have the best parents and siblings and it’s times like these that make me love them 100x’s more.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!
